Anyconnect

When I try to connect using the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client, I receive this error: Connection attempt has failed due to server certificate problem. I happened to have this problem in my previous Ubuntu 11.10 installation. When using Ubuntu version 18.04 or 19.10, Cisco Anyconnect VPN disconnects, and you are unable to reconnect. Explanation: This issue is caused when DHCP attempts to renew the lease of the IP address attached to the device that you are using. The renew process happens every 10 to 15 minutes for wireless devices and every 11 hours for wired. When I try to connect using the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client, I receive this error: Connection attempt has failed due to server certificate problem. I happened to have this problem in my previous Ubuntu.

Check if the Cisco AnyConnect app is installed. Before installing the VPN client, you can check to see if the Cisco AnyConnect app is already installed on your computer. Open Spotlight Search by clicking on the magnifying glass at the top right of your desktop, or via the keyboard shortcut command-spacebar. Type to search for the Cisco. If you don't need the 'official' Cisco AnyConnect VPN software, I highly recommend installing the 'network-manager-openconnect-gnome' package in the Ubuntu Repository. It uses OpenConnect which is an open source client for AnyConnect.
